Kawasan Falls

Dumaguete, Philippines • Recommendation • a year ago

Kawasan Falls is a a three-tiered waterfall system, a must see attraction in Badian, Cebu due to its cool and refreshing crystal clear water. Our trip to Kawasan Falls was part of our Canyoneering tour package. Several tourists flock this place so as a result, to get to the main point of the waterfalls, your group has to line up. We were asked to hop on a raft with our life vests where then guides row those rafts to reach the main point of the waterfalls. It’s a really fun experience that I recommend others to try.

Canyoneering Cebu, Badian Adventure

Dumaguete, Philippines • Recommendation • a year ago

This activity is not for the faint of heart. You need to gear up for safety purposes: Life vest to make me float on the water and prevent me from drowning (water level is crazy deep) and Helmets to protect my head from bumping into rocks. Our first jump is from a 40 feet cliff. There’s no way down but through there so you really have no choice but to collect your courage and jump. I was able to jump off 2 out of 3 cliffs: the 40 feet and the 50 feet. My packed courage sort of fell short when I was asked to jump off a 70 feet cliff. I chickened out and opted to do a 15 to 20 minutes trek down the rocky trails of the waterfalls. The area consists of numerous waterfalls of different height, but all are majestic and breathtaking. Its cold green blue water is very captivating. Over all experience is a rush, something that I will really recommend to thrill seekers out there.

Monastery of the Holy Eucharist (Simala Church)

Talisay, Philippines • Wishlist • a year ago

The monastery sits atop a hill in Simala, Sibonga, Cebu and is home to Our Lady of Lindogon. Various accounts say that the lady’s image originally came from Pampanga and was given to the Marian Monks after the Mt. Pinatubo eruption. The monks then brought the lady’s image to Simala but locals weren’t very accommodating at first until the Virgin Mary said to have interceded last 1998 and started an epidemic that claimed the lives of several local children 😵😵

Osmeña Peak

Dumaguete, Philippines • Wishlist • a year ago

Osmeña Peak is the highest mountain in Cebu. It is a cluster of green hills, appearing as if a deformed “Bohol’s Chocolate Hills”. The hike to the highest point of this mountain takes about 30 minutes only.

Tumalog Falls

Dumaguete, Philippines • Recommendation • a year ago

Tumalog Falls is an example of a horsetail waterfall in which the water remains in contact with the rock most of the time. I was at awe when I first saw the waterfalls. Its light blue waters, its height, and the way the water falls from the top captivated me. This sure is a must-go-to place in Oslob.

Temple of Leah, Cebu

Cebu City, Philippines • Wishlist • a year ago

Cebu's Temple Of Leah is a shrine built as a symbol of the undying love and ceaseless devotion of Teodorico Soriano Adarna to his wife for 53 years, Leah Villa Albino-Adarna. The design took inspiration from Greek and Roman architecture. At the heart of the temple, you’ll find a 9-feet tall bronze statue of Leah Albino-Adarna. I wonder how big is this shrine? I wanna see it. It was just described as Cebu’s version of the Taj Mahal. 🤔

Oslob Whale Shark Watching

Dumaguete, Philippines • Recommendation • a year ago

This is the main attraction of Cebu. I got to swim with the gigantic whale sharks. 😱 At first, i was so anxious and nearly palpitating but I collected my courage and just went for it. These creatures are huge!!! I feel like I can be sucked into their mouths when they open it - but it’s all good. You just need to stay at least 3 feet away from them. But did I mention that there are numerous sharks in the water which will make it hard for you to stay at least 3 feet away? Once fishermen drop off fishes to serve as their breakfast, whale sharks just keep on coming. Crazy scary but a worthy experience.
