Quezon City is a city in Philippines, with around 2.8 million inhabitants. It is the largest city in Philippines. Lemi has 48 lists with places in Quezon City.
One of the things that I love about Quezon City is their wide selection of restaurants to go to. There are a lot of hidden gems that I'm glad I did not miss out on, thanks to friends who introduced me to most of the ones I listed down here. I haven't been around the city as much as I used to, but I'll make sure I'll visit my favorites again once I go back!
A little back story: My undergraduate thesis is actually a cultural study about Cubao and how it became a transitory juncture, how the place constantly changes but its unspoken purpose as a center of everything does not. Cubao is an amalgamation of a lot of things, it's many things at once. It's not glamorous. But its grit makes it a favorite by many. Here's a list that proves exactly all that. (The title of this list is named after Tony Perez's collection of stories. He has written so many accounts on Cubao, and he is the inspiration behind my study.)
Can’t decide what to eat? Here’s a guide for you guys!
Tattoos and piercings do not only entail self-expression. Body modification has been around for centuries, originating from tribes. It’s the tribalistic nature that cultivates a new contemporary niche. The new tribe brings together people with body modifications, often discernible when a modified person instantly feels a slight connection with another. Wanna be part of the tribe? Check these places out and get your very own mark.
This guide is dedicated to people who want to explore the music scene. I sincerely believe that the local music scene is thriving and a huge portion of that is because of all these place where we can experience their music together. These venues are places I personally hang-out in as someone who’s been in and out of way too many gigs to count since 2015. The gig-going culture in the Metro is such a beautiful thing, you’ll realize eventually that most of the time, you’ll see the same familiar faces in the crowd— strangers united by a surge of waves and vibration. At the end of the day, no matter who you are, or where you came from, the music will affect us all the same. We’ll nod to the same beat and shout the same words, and THAT is what we’re paying to see. The experience.
Staying in hotels reminds me of Cinderella. Check in time is usually 3PM: You will be treated like a VIP, a made up room to your liking, amenities that you are looking forward to try, food that will make you guilty as hell BUT when the clock strikes 12PM on your next day, you have to say goodbye to that kind of life cause it’s the standard check out time. This is a list of hotels in the Philippines that I support and I recommend for your momentary Cinderella experience. 💎
Savory, sinful, and sizzling—that’s how we like our sisig!
Absinthe’s mystique lies in its complexity—not only pertaining to how its distinct botanical flavors perplex the palate, but also to its elegant and almost ritualistic preparation that traditionally requires ornate and valuable paraphernalia. Not to mention it holds an infamous reputation and a history of being banned. Absinthe is commonly prepared by placing a jigger of the spirit in a glass, and then dripping water on to a sugar cube sat on an absinthe spoon perched on the rim of the glass. A green fairy will not emerge, but myriad flavors and aromas will. It's not easy to find absinthe in Metro Manila. Luckily, it's starting to gain popularity especially with the market's growing inclination towards the elusive and uncanny.
In the Philippines, thrift shops are more commonly known as "Ukay-ukay." Ukay-ukay shopping requires a lot of patience, since there are so many clothes to choose from but it's definitely worth it because some of the best cheap clothing finds are found here! I'm proud to say that 60% of the clothes I currently own came from the shops in this list. I'll include pictures of my finds and their price if my memory permits! Looking forward to update this list if I discover more Ukay stores.
Here are some places around the metro where you can have a music break with cold beer and great people. 🎵🍺
Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo! Glam up in the masterful hands of Manila's glam fairies.
It’s a wonderful time to get into OPM (Original Pilipino Music). Talent is fresh and profesh! The different genres covered are as diverse as the performance spaces. These are a few I’ve tried and liked. Hopefully I can add soon so tune in and check back from time to time!

Katsu is popular for Japanese and Korean cultures. It is simple, delicious, and filling. In Yabu the katsu is served with salad, fruit, and rice; all of which are unlimited. They have a variety of meats from fish, chicken, pork, cheese stuffed, with curry, and more. It’s a good place to eat with those who are a little bit more health conscious. I would recommend this place because of the quality in which their food is served and the portions you can get. It is good for families, casual dates, and even to get together with friends. Try something new at Yabu 🍴

Kko Kko is one of the places I highly recommend for teens and young adults. The cheese fondu and chicken platter is absolutely to die for. Though they say that half is good enough for 3 people, 2 people can easily finish it. They also have a chicken and beer promo which is good for those who wanna wind down with a cold one after a long week at work. A few of their other items on the menu include street foods such as tteokbokki, kimchi fried rice, sundae, and various desserts and Korean drinks. I recommend this place as a fun and instagram-able place to go on casual dates or lunch with friends. I recently went there with my boyfriend and I must say, we love that place not just because we’re cheese lovers, but because it’s something unique and different from the countless samgyupsal restaurants. This place is the place to be with those you wanna be with 🍽

Connected directly to Robinson’s Galleria, Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria provides a luxurious stay within Ortigas. Being known as a 4.5 stay hotel franchise, they provide the service and experience that could be expected from any Crowne Plaza hotel. One bragging point of this hotel, other than their friendly staff and amazing service, is their Seven Corners Restaurant. Their food is both of amazing quality and absolutely delicious. Some of their best dishes are their rib-eye steak, sashimi, pasta station, omelette station, and their tepanyaki station. Those are on the must try list for any visitor of the hotel and restaurant. I recommend this place mainly for the feeling the staff gives you. Though they are in the process of renovating and some rooms are a little outdated, the staff treats you as family. They remember who you are, your preferences, and always treat you with respect. Let this hotel be your home away from home 🏡

Trattoria Altrove is quite literally the hidden gem of BF Homes. Though most people will drive past it with no regard to its existence, it really is beautiful. The exterior looks like a bear up house; plain, orange, and unattractive. But inside it is a hidden paradise. With the breathtaking garden, an extension to a hit you can sit on the floor and dine in private, and the regular seating with live music in the evening; it gives you the intimacy you look for. Their food is made from organic materials and they have a stone oven where they cook their pizzas. They have customizable pizzas and pastas, a broad selection of wine, and healthy juices for adults and kids alike. I would recommend this place for those on anniversaries or perhaps intimate celebrations with few friends and family. The ambiance in the evening is everything you could dream of and expect from a fairytale. The perfect place to pop the questions or see your dreams come true!

The RM-16 bar is a hidden speakeasy near Tittos Latin BBQ & Brew. It’s hidden behind a Coca-Cola vending machine door. Their drinks are absolutely to die for. Aside from the usual beers, liquor, cocktails, and bar chow there’s a hidden gem. The gem is their Me Soprendes drink. Essentially you just tell the bartender your mood and he will make a drink to match it!! The drinks are both tasty and super instagram-able, but you might wanna bring a flash or flashlight cuz it’s pretty dark there. I would recommend this place for a cool first date, a small birthday get together, or just for chill drinking on the weekdays. It can get pretty crazy on the weekends. I would suggest to go there as soon as possible. It’s an experienced everyone should have and you won’t regret it.

If I have a friend from another city visiting Makati for the first time, I'd definitely bring him here. Coffee is amazing! Interiors of the cafe is super chill and vibrant. Very friendly staff! To top it off, Yardstick is only beside Your Local which is where I'm taking my visiting friend for lunch or dinner!

Vengo is my go to place for coffee since it's only right across my office. I usually get Americano (Php 120) while @nyxandstones, my coffee body, orders Love, Rosie (Php 170). Definitely trying their pastries soon. Maybe tomorrow!

Not a lot of people know about Curator, which is surprising considering that their coffee is so good. Owned by David Ong, the bean they use is EDSA BDG. If you want to be somewhere quiet in the busy city of Makati and enjoy third wave coffee, Curator is definitely the place to be.

Another nail salon I'd frequent if it were nearer to me, Nail Spa has some of the best nail technicians in my opinion! The salon itself has a great ambiance, too. It's a good place to disappear in for a few hours.

One of the most expensive in the metro, but a favorite indulgence. All of their technicians are highly trained and tools are all high quality. It’s a bit pricey, but I hang out here for 3 hours to get my manicure and pedicure done that it’s worth it!
