My favorite local authors in the Philippines have raved about this one. All I know is the owner of BooksActually is very passionate about promoting Singaporean literature and has a cat who stays inside the bookstore. That makes me more excited!

Cafebrería El Péndulo's vibe seems so peaceful. And it's like the books are growing leaves! 🍃 Aside from this perfect ambience, they also have a cafe and restaurant that serves authentic Mexican food. Someday I'll grab a book, have a snack and a cup of coffee here.

Books at Libreria Acqua Alta are kept safe from Venice floods with bookshelves in the form of a bathtub and an actual gondola.

This bookstore in Hamburg reminds me so much of Fully Booked aesthetic wise. But what I love most is their stock of unique and rare collections. They even have Sally Rooney and hard to find Patti Smith books in limited edition covers. 😭💖

Cozy and vintage, Halabi Bookshop is a hub for artists and book lovers in Beirut. Many regulars have found friends that they now treat as family in this humble space. Can't wait to get my hands on some of their classics and explore their culture through text.

Many locals can attest to the best bargains that The Word Book Shop offers when it comes to architecture books. I've always had a running curiosity about architecture, so this is a must visit. 🏢🧱

Even as a child, I always had this affinity for Baguio. My family and I would spend the New Year here and there just came a point where many preferred celebrating at home. I continued on with the tradition and made sure that when I have the luxury of time and extra cash, I'll get the next available bus ticket and find my way back to Baguio.
A little back story: My undergraduate thesis is actually a cultural study about Cubao and how it became a transitory juncture, how the place constantly changes but its unspoken purpose as a center of everything does not. Cubao is an amalgamation of a lot of things, it's many things at once. It's not glamorous. But its grit makes it a favorite by many. Here's a list that proves exactly all that. (The title of this list is named after Tony Perez's collection of stories. He has written so many accounts on Cubao, and he is the inspiration behind my study.)
