Saint Dunstan in the East Church Garden

London, United Kingdom • Wishlist • 6 months ago

The church of St. Dunstan was bombed in the Blitz of 1941, and after the decision was not made to rebuild the church, the ruins were turned into a beautiful public garden 🌿 Bonus, for any Lord of the Rings fans out there, the garden looks like a scene straight out the movies! 🙈

Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem

Nottingham, United Kingdom • Wishlist • 5 months ago

The “oldest” pub in England. Apparently, the landlord boards go back to 1760 but there's a cave inside which dates back to 1070. There's also a wooden galleon on display. Don't touch it though! It's rumoured to be cursed. 💀

Old Ferry Boat Pub

Cambridge, United Kingdom • Wishlist • 5 months ago

Another pub that claims to be the “oldest” pub in England. This one has been dated back to 1050 A.D. but legend has it that it's 500 years older. Also, if anyone's interested, they have a ghost! The pub was built upon the grave of young girl called Juliet. 😦

River Thames

London, United Kingdom • Wishlist •

Would come here to hopefully catch some swan-upping! It's an annual ceremony in England wherein they census the swans on the Thames & other places. The reason for this is because the Queen enjoys ownership of all unmarked swans in open water.
