Snake Island

El Nido

Puerto Princesa, Philippines • Recommendation • 29 May 2018

Found in a corner of Bacuit Bay is Snake Island, named for its unique S-shaped sandbar. Popular for its soft, powder-like sand, it also has a viewing deck where you can take in the sight of vast ocean waters. Laze around and bask in the sun and surf—thankfully, the island itself is snake-free!

Cudugnon Cave

Puerto Princesa, Philippines • Recommendation • 29 May 2018

Crawl into the caverns of the majestic Cudugnon Cave, where the rock formations feature varying colors and patterns. Found in a remote area only accessible by sea, this natural wonder offers a look into early Philippine settlers as it is believed to be a Neolithic burial site due to various ancient artifacts of pottery and jewelry found within the cave.

Miniloc Island (El Nido Resorts)

Puerto Princesa, Philippines • Recommendation • 29 May 2018

Limestone cliffs are everywhere in Miniloc island, as it holds three of the most popular spots in Palawan—a big lagoon, a small lagoon, and a secret beach, all teeming with marine life. The big lagoon boasts a shallow channel that leads to a deeper area surrounded by towering rocks, while the smaller lagoon is so tiny that you will need to squeeze through in a kayak. The water is incredibly clear, so enjoy the experience of being surrounded by brightly colored fishes and the occasional turtle. For more fun, swim with giant trevallies (kingfish) as they are fed chopped squid!
