The hotel’s name comes from the fact that it is simply located across Luneta Park. Designed by Salvador Farre, its architecture is an example of French Renaissance. An interesting thing to note is that they had to renovate the hotel from the inside so as to preserve the exterior, which apparently quite a difficult task!
I think a large chunk of La Union’s charm comes from its sunsets. At least for me, what always gets me to endure a five hour road trip from Manila to San Fernando or Urbiztondo is knowing that I’m going to get a clear and wide view of the sky’s colors unfolding right in front of my very eyes.
Tip: my favorite place to stay in La Union is in Aureo because it never fails to showcase a beautiful landscape of the sun rising and setting. It’s also where I took this photo!
