Once you step onto the teak bridge entrance of Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, you’ll know you’re in for an exquisite experience! Opt for one of the luxurious villas, each of which features its own outdoor shower and plunge pool. Let’s be honest, though, the resort’s abundance of activities will probably keep you out of your room! Complimentary pastimes include trekking through the paddies, cycle tours, and yoga classes. When you’ve exhausted the day, unwind at Sacred River Spa with a massage using local, organic products created exclusively for the resort.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been here a couple of times for more press junkets (when MAC Cosmetics held one of their masterclasses here and National Book Store hosted Kevin Kwan in Cebu) and it was always a pleasant experience. Since I stayed here mostly for work, I don’t think I’ve ever fully taken in its beauty—especially their famous spa! This is one of those places you shouldn’t miss checking in to when you’re in the Queen City, though. The rooms are awesome, the landscape is amazing. The food is great, too! I’d definitely come back.

⭐⭐★★★ Boasting an award winning pool, this was on my bucket list of places to splurge in Bali. Many websites recommended it as one of the best hotels to stay in Ubud. But! A tight schedule saved me from what might have been a regrettable experience. Having no time to spend a night there, but still wanting to check out the pool that made for some stunning Instagram shots, I hopped over to Google Maps to see if I could get some information on pool packages. Grinding through the comment section had me tick this place right off the list. And it wasn't entirely the mind boggling price that put me off (that's a matter of perspective, this is a luxury resort after all). The way the staff responded to the bad reviews was appalling. And some of those reviews made for true holiday-horror stories.
