I always see this whenever I'm in Hong Kong, but I've yet to try it! Their Scrambled Eggs are supposed to be the city's best. 😋

Follow the locals and have a Hong Kong-style breakfast at a cha chaan teng (茶餐廳, tea restaurant)! Australia Dairy Company is arguably the most famous one, pleasing customers with scrumptious buttered toast and the fluffiest scrambled eggs paired with coffee or tea. Save some room for dessert—their steamed milk comes highly recommended! Cha chaan tengs are known for their brusque service and fast-paced atmosphere. Drop by early to secure a seat, and prepare to order, eat, and go!

Immerse yourself in Hong Kong’s fast-paced lifestyle as you start your day at Australia Dairy Company. From conversing with quick-tongued Cantonese speaking staff to constantly transferring seats so everyone gets to sit down, you’re bound to get a kick of energy from the rush of a true cha chaan teng experience. Take your cue from the variety of locals expertly navigating their way along the busy restaurant to savor amongst the—dare we say—best local scrambled eggs in Hong Kong! The smooth and creamy goodness of the well-seasoned fluff of gold is usually paired with toast and macaroni or spaghetti with ham and soup to complete the breakfast meal. Complete your morning with their acclaimed steamed milk for a kick of sweetness!

Pastries will always be a significant part of Hong Kong's street food culture. In Fa Yuen Street, Kee Tsui Cake Shop has become a local favorite for its tasty rice cakes, egg tarts, and red bean cakes. The shop's sweet offerings are always served fresh guaranteed to impress you with every bite.

As the original Honeymoon Dessert shop, the Sai Kung branch has developed into a bilingual haven to satiate your sweet tooth. The service and the interior design are very traditionally local (despite having an English menu), but the food is diverse. The signature yellow bowls of the old days are moving towards trendy glass jars filled with quirky flavours, such as the Durian pancake, New Guinea sago and Hong Kong favourites like grass jelly. It may be wallet-friendly, but it sure isn't diet-friendly!

A day in Hong Kong is never complete without the well-loved egg tart. Tai Cheong Bakery is where the most flavorful egg tarts are found. The bakehouse's recipe is famous for its thick, creamy egg custard with just the right amount of sweetness. Visit their branches early to enjoy the tarts fresh from the oven!
