Tonki has been welcoming tonkatsu (豚カツ, fried pork cutlet) connoisseurs for almost 80 years, proving its traditional home-style cooking is one to beat! This old-fashioned restaurant has two levels, but we suggest you queue at the ground floor to witness the chefs cook up your meal! Choose between Hire (ヒレ, pork fillet) or Rosu (ロース, pork loin) cuts, partnered with rice, miso soup, and pickles. Do note, though, that you’ll probably reek of oil after dining here!

After failed visits to two other popular tonkatsu restaurants in Ginza, I stumbled upon Anzu. There was a line when we got to the place, which we deemed a good sign. The tonkatsu was decent in size, shape, and price; and each order comes with heaps of cabbage! 🐷 It's in one of the top floors of the Mitsukoshi department store, so there's a pretty decent view. 🌃
