A beautiful and charming osteria still run by family in its fourth generation serving delicious Brescian family recipes since 1900. What a gem and the owners are sweethearts!
Definitely sit in the garden if it’s open on a warm sunny day! Otherwise, don’t fret, siting indoors has plenty of character too!
When the restaurant isn’t busy, Mauri the owner will come by to tell you what he picked from the garden that day, in his Italian (which you have to decipher from whatever Latin based language you might have learned in school) with animated hands and limited English. There were many times we looked at each other and shrugged our shoulders and said “Si! Uno, per favore!”and to be surprised with whatever he actually said being served to us.
We had the best experience because we were not restricted by time.Spend some time looking at the historical artifacts displayed, the family pictures from the decades gone by. They are so proud to share their family tradition and “home” with visitors. It’s so lovely!
