A café, restaurant, and retail shop in one, this quirky spot is owned by famed Taiwanese director Wei Tei-sheng. Very Instagrammable place!

Nothing like a sky-high building and its view to make you contemplate your insignificant existence. It’s definitely tourist-y, but a must-see on your first visit to Taipei!

Start your Taipei street food adventure here. Hot Star Chicken Cutlet. Torched Beef Cubes with Rose Rock Salt. Prince Cheese Potatoes’ Corn & Cheese. Taiwan Bubble Milk Tea. More. Yum! I also watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 with my friends in a cinema here.

Take in a different side of Taiwan while walking through Jiufen’s old streets. Stretch your legs, but get your tummy ready, too! There’s a lot of food you can try and taste for free before buying them for pasalubong!

Even if you haven’t seen Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away (the popular animated film inspired by this very place), you can’t miss this iconic teahouse in the old streets of Jiufen.

The one where I remember all the places I’ve watched concerts in. A backstory: When I started working in publishing, the first beat I ever covered was music. I’ve since had the pleasure of watching (and sometimes also interviewing) some of the biggest names in music throughout my writing career. I also ended up traveling to watch some of my favorite artists in concert—something I still do on occasion. Thank you for the music! 🎶
