We didn't really go into the palace grounds. (I was more interested in other palaces tbh.) But if I had the time and energy, I'd probably stick it into my itinerary. Nonetheless, it looked pretty great even on the outside. And there's a nice garden at the side.

The main royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty. I was mindblown with the landscape and architecture of Gyeongbokgung! Paul loves visiting these kinds of landmarks and despite the long walks under the sun, it was all worth it.

One of my favorite memories when visiting Seoul was renting a hanbok (traditional Korean outfit) and walking around the Gyeongbok Palace to take pictures as if I was living there at that time. The dresses are very ornate and look beautiful with the majesty of the palace. I would recommend this place for any future sightseers in Seoul. It is something that should be experienced and would be enjoyed by anyone who loves great pictures of themselves. Put yourself in the middle of Korea’s history 🙂

I already went here on my first trip to Seoul, but figured my family should see it as well! After all, this used to be the main royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty. It’s amazing how it stands in the middle of all the modern structures Seoul has built since—still one of my favorite things about this city! You can’t help but be in awe of how much heritage they’ve been able to preserve. (Yes, @caldefool was game enough to try the hanbok with me! 😜)

The power of the Oracle foretells the future and chants prophecies of god Apollo for demigods’ quests. Rachel Elizabeth Dare is the Oracle in the Percy Jackson series, a mortal who can see through the mist and takes on the spirit of Delphi. At present, the Delphic Tholos located in Greece is a symbolic architecture of the oracle and is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

In the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the movie location of Hogwarts The School of Witch and Wizardry is shot here in Alnwick Castle, Northumberland. The iconic scene when Professor McGonagall discovered that Harry Potter can ride the broomstick and this event would make Harry the first seeker in a 100 years is shot in this very place.
